Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. When she was just five, she moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled in her first Dragon School. Emma's dream was to become an actor. As a young girl of 6, she enrolled in the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch and took lessons on singing, acting, and dance. At the age of 10, she had appeared and played as the main character in several Stagecoach productions and school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was initially discovered as a casting agent by her Oxford drama teacher. After eight auditions consistently, producer David Heyman told Emma and fellow applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been selected to play the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's debut film coincided with the release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The movie beat all previous records on opening day and weekend numbers, and was the most-recorded 2001 movie. The film received praise from reviewers, and so were the performances of its three new actors. The Daily Telegraph, a widely read British newspaper, was awed by her for her performance. Emma received the Young Artist Award as the leading young actress in a feature Film. The actress was recognized five times in recognition of her performance in the movie.
