She played Karen Walker (Amanda Walker) on the NBC program Will & Grace, which was on from 1998 until 2006 before relaunching in 2017 and 2020. Mullally won 8 Primetime Emmy Award nominees for Outstanding Actress Supporting in a Comedy Series. The character she played also garnered her nominations for numerous other awards like seven consecutive Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Actress Female on the screen in a Comedy Series. She won three occasions between 2001 between 2001 and 2002. Her first acting credits included an appearance in a McDonald's commercial with John Goodman. In 1986 she made her television debut with The Ellen Burstyn Show. Her family heritage includes English Irish and Scandinavian. When she was six, she studied ballet and performed at Oklahoma City Ballet.
